Selected public archive
Four decades of things that actually got built.
Most current AGM client work is confidential. The archive therefore concentrates on older technology and productions that can be documented publicly — including the odd specialist product that had a surprisingly long life.
Graphite Microsystems — Enhanced Ambisonics
AGM’s CSP “A” processing at a computer launch in the Netherlands, with a purpose-written soundtrack and multi-image presentation.
Cairo’s, Swindon — Ambisonics in a public venue
An eight-way Stage Accompany system with AGM CSP “A” processing for First Leisure’s new Swindon nightclub — described in contemporary trade press as an unusually early Ambisonic disco installation.
AGMnet — remote control & diagnosis
An AGM supervisory network for installed audio: remote operation, proprietary control cards and real-time system diagnosis, documented alongside a processing platform expandable to 16 channels.
Touchdown Studios — “The Virtual Room”
AGM 32-bit DSP surround processing and a 16-channel vector-positioning core inside an experimental multichannel studio near Munich.
MR1 Microphone Recording System
Not merely a microphone: a tetrahedral four-capsule front end, early 20-bit conversion and digital spatial processing built as a complete recording chain.
MR1 recordings & Perfectum Est
Contemporary Studio Sound coverage records the MR1 moving from development into classical sessions with Nagra-D recorders and plans for AGM’s Perfectum Est label.
Schering IMAGE 100
Event production, a purpose-written orchestral soundtrack, 36 Dataton-controlled projectors on a 16 × 16 metre image field and four-channel Ambisonic replay at Studio Babelsberg.
Three Speaker Stereo — TSS-1, TSS-1D & ESsEX
AGM hardware implementations of Michael Gerzon’s patented Trifield principle, later continued in file-based software; surviving units and references document real-world use.
Gärtnerplatztheater — early staff-editable web publishing
AGM’s founder record describes work with ICL Germany on a theatre website whose own staff could update programme and cast information through a backend and publish changes directly.
XEncode, dotAGM & DTS
A networked multichannel encoding workflow built around validation, packing, queued server processing and checking rather than tying a production workstation up in real time.
Replay Environments
Room-independent, high-channel-count replay concepts that treated loudspeaker geometry, format conversion, control and remote diagnostics as parts of one system.
Arnold Schönberg – “Wer ich bin”
A custom 2008 binaural Schönberg head followed by documented AGM involvement in the Vienna exhibition and its high-channel-count multimedia replay environment.
Press, brochures & surviving evidence
The archive is being rebuilt from surviving AGM material, contemporary trade press, product brochures and independent references. Where a story is based on founder recollection rather than an independent source, that distinction is retained in the underlying research record.
The aim is not to recreate a sales catalogue. It is to explain why these things existed, what problem they were trying to solve, what AGM actually contributed and where there is evidence that somebody used them.
