Mr. Steiner is an extremely eccentric resident of Asolo (Treviso) in Italy and describes himself as "one of the world's most forgotten famous photographers". An innovative creator of lithography, personal friend of Henry Miller, elected photographer to Antonioni and defender of his collection of over 100,000 negatives of his work between the late '50s and early 70's. Currently on his annual sojourn to Australia and India (armed with his DV camera) in an endeavour to avoid the European winter, he has agreed recently to allow selective access to his collection. Newly discovered photographs of Italian master architect Carlo Scarpa are the first for retrieval and processing by AGM with hopefully more to follow upon his return.
